Instructions vs Context

5 min 100 XP

There are two types of input

Instructions tell the AI what to do. Context tells the AI what it needs to know. Most people give AI instructions with no context. This is why most AI outputs feel generic.

Context is your secret weapon

The more relevant information you give AI about you, your goal, your audience, and your constraints, the more useful and specific the output becomes. Context is not extra. It is the main thing.

Think before you prompt

Ask yourself: What is my actual goal? What does the AI need to know about my situation? What should the output look and feel like? What should it NOT do? Answering these before you prompt will dramatically improve your results.
